A teacher marks a piece of writing beside a student progress report

Parents often ask how they can tell whether tutoring is working. Our answer is a report every week, and a checkpoint test every three weeks.

What the report shows

Each weekly report covers:

  • Strengths: what your child did well this week.
  • Gaps: what they still find hard.
  • What comes next: the focus for the following week.
  • Attendance, time on task and accuracy: how much practice was done, and how much of it was correct.

Where the numbers come from

Students do short, targeted exercises every day on our learning platform, set to their level in each subject. The report is built from that practice, so it shows what your child actually did, not only how a lesson felt.

How the checkpoint fits in

Every three weeks, students sit a checkpoint test against a fixed standard. When they meet the bar, they move up a level. The weekly reports show the progress between checkpoints. The checkpoint confirms it.

How to use it at home

  • Read the gaps with your child and ask them to explain one of them to you.
  • Look at time on task before you look at accuracy. Regular practice comes first.
  • If something in the report surprises you, get in touch: our phone number and email are on that page.
